Gerald Meyers  

January 2, 1958 – January 31, 2022

Gerald Meyers was born January 2, 1958, in New Town, the son of Felix and Linda (White Owl) Meyers.  He entered the spirit world on January 31, 2022, in Seattle, Washington.  He was a member of the Chicken Clan and a child of the Dripping Dirt Clan.  Gerald grew up in New Town.  He enlisted in the US Army but was ineligible because of medical reasons.  

Gerald traveled around before settling in Portland, Oregon.  He met Mona Cowles and her daughter, Red.  He loved Red’s daughters, Raven, Jasmine and Harmony, as his own grandchildren.  He also cherished his visits with family and friends.  Gerald was loved by many and will be greatly missed.  

He is survived by his brothers, Felix Meyers Jr, Kenneth Meyers, and Michael Meyers; sisters, Sharon Spotted Horse, Katherine Cox and Eunice Meyers; maternal aunts, Josephine Parenteau and Joyce Eakin; paternal aunt, Neva Satermo and several nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Emerson Meyers; maternal grandparents, Simon and Edna (Crow) White Owl; and paternal grandparents, Jackson and Josephine (Birdsbill) Dancing Bull.

Gerald’s funeral was held Friday, February 11, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the Northern Lights Community Center with his burial at Holy Family US Scout Catholic Cemetery, rural New Town. Royce Wolf will serve as Senior Pallbearer and Pastor Kevin Finley officiated.
