Matthew Bunner, who was a suspect in a strong-armed robbery, was taken into custody on Saturday October 17, 2020 without incident with the assistance of the Mountrail County Sheriff’s Office and Stanley Police Department. Bunner was wanted for the robbery of a business on Main Street in New Town, ND that occurred on Thursday October 15, 2020.

Security cameras caught clear imagery of Bunner, wearing a white pullover hoodie and without a face mask. Cameras also caught footage of the vehicle Bunner fled the scene in, a silver GMC TrailBlazer, which was located a few hours after the incident. The Three Affiliated Tribes Law Enforcement Services sought the public’s help with any information regarding Bunner’s location that would lead to his arrest in a Facebook post. “If you see this person, please contact Law Enforcement Services immediately… DO NOT attempt to approach DO NOT attempt to detain this subject as he is considered armed and dangerous”, the Facebook post read. However, Bunner has been apprehended by multiple law enforcement agencies and is now in custody awaiting court.
