Gather 25 came to the New Town Baptist Fellowship on February 28, 2025. The
evening was very pleasant as we worship with other brothers and sisters in Christ.
Gather 25 was a live broadcast joined by 60,621 people from 176 countries. The site
was hosted by the New Town Baptist Fellowship from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
According to Gather 25, the event goal was to hear stories of what is happening in the
global Church and joined with 1.5 billion Christians from every continent to worship,
pray, repent and be commissioned to share Jesus with 2.5 billion people who don’t
know Jesus. The goal is to go and make disciples of all people connected live from all
cultures across the world in different countries, different time zones to come together
and rejoice in our Lord Jesus Christ.
The New Town Baptist Fellowship scheduled this event for our community with a meal
and speaking to Sister Becky Reynolds. She stated that it started by Jenny Allen called
the If:Gathering which was a yearly women’s event. Instead of having this event her
goal was in 2025 to bring the Global Church together for men and women and all
believers. The purpose was to gather the 1.5 billion believers on the whole planet
simulcasting for 25 hours for the purpose of bringing them together to commission us as
body to go out and reach the 2.5 billion unsaved, the reason is time short because we
are living in the last days before the return of Jesus Christ. There is an organization
called Illumination which has brought all the Bible translators, and they are a big
supporter of this worldwide event, and they want to have the Bible translated in every
language by 2033 and they are track to beat that schedule so the Bible will have
reached every people group on the planet. This is to hear what other churches are
doing. We are only doing a two-hour event, but it is going for 25 hours. She stated that
even the persecuted church will be presented from an undisclosed location. We are
praying for New Town for them to have a personal relationship with Jesus and know the
truth of the gospel.
Sister June was happy to share her story, “I have lived in New Town for 11 years. God
has done so much in my life right now He is teaching me to trust Him and to know who He
really is and to know that He has it all under control and just learning of Him and I came
across a verse in Jeremiah which says that when God thinks of us His thoughts of us is
peace and not evil and to just to know what that really means is to know that the
Almighty God who looks at me a sinner that He looks down at me and thinks of me with
peace and just to know that even He thinks of me and the beauty of who God is and just to think about the woman with the oil who spilled it at His feet who knew how precious He is that’s how God wants to look at Him. We are at a day of prayer a lot of people look at it as something small but it’s something really big and it changes things it’s the most that anybody can do.”
