United Quality Cooperative opened the doors of its Ag Retail Center back in 2017. The United Quality board of directors decided a couple of years ago to make some big changes and Wednesday the coop celebrated a Grand Reopening to show off the results of their hard work. “It’s exciting and it’s taken a couple of years as people know,” said Kelsey DesRoches, Director of Communications for United Quality. “We have completed our remodeling and want to celebrate with the community our grand reopening.”
One of the biggest changes was the addition of a Dairy Queen franchise in the center. The grocery area was expanded to add coolers and freezer cases. “It’s like we added a grocery store so we are more of a one-stop shop,” DesRoches said. “On top of that we added a Dairy Queen on the north side. We reorganized the store to make more sense and have a better flow. The diesel side is open 24/7 for our truck drivers and the public. Those are the biggest changes we have made.”
The Ag Retail Center still features a full hardware store and lumber yard selling farm equipment, lawn and garden supplies, home repair and construction tools and materials. “Along with the hardware and lumber we have ag seed, cattle chutes, any livestock products you may need, and trailers as well,” DesRoches said. “So if you need anything, check with us first.”
To celebrate the Grand
Reopening, the coop dropped the price of gas to 99 cents for two hours, leading to a line that stretched for a couple of blocks. There were bouncy houses and free sunglasses for the first 250 kids. Staff grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for the crowd. Anyone who signed up for the UQ Loyalty program at the event got 2,500 points, good for a $25 discount on purchases.
“We are just happy to celebrate with the community,” DesRoches said. “We appreciate all the help we got from our vendors to put on this event. It is truly a team effort from top to bottom. It involved all our United Quality workers and I appreciate each and every one of them.”
