Joey Fox

December 3, 1985 – October 19, 2021

Joey Fox, 35, Minneapolis, formerly of New Town and Mandaree, ND, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at his home.

He was born December 3, 1985, in Minot, ND to Sharyl and Peter Don Fox. He is a genuine Prairie Chicken Clan Member. He was the third born with three brothers and one sister.

Joey attended elementary schools at New Town, Todd County, and Killdeer; most of his education in Mandaree for elementary through high school.

Joey enjoyed working fast-paced jobs. He worked as a bartender in New Town the Players Pub and Sportsman’s for several years and then as a cashier at the Shell Gas Station of Washburn, N.D. He loved meeting new friends and made many wherever he went.

In his young life, Joey loved to cook for his family and friends. He took many trips with Antwan; this last year they visited Gateway Arch in St. Louis MO and the islands of Hawaii. He loved to gamble at the nearest casino and online. He would also love buying gifts for his nieces and nephews on Amazon.

Joey knew life was imminent and would often FaceTime, message, text, and visit with those he loved dearly. He will always be remembered as the life of the party, your best friend, beloved brother and uncle, and loving companion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sharyl and Peter Fox; maternal grandparents, Murdo Penny Jones and Chuck Brady; paternal grandparents, Pat Grinnell and Vincent “Dutch” Fox.

Joey is survived by his long-time companion, Antwan Boone; brothers, Lester Kills on Top of Fargo, Justin Fox (Santana) of Hazen, and Michael Fox of Bismarck; sister, Kirsten Fox of MN; nieces, Julissa Fox, Jaylee Fox, Kashaela Kills On Top, and Juliann Fox; nephews Justin Fox Jr. and Caden Boone; and many extended relatives.  

Donovan Abbey served as Senior Pallbearer

Services were held at Northern Lights Community Center in New Town with his wake on Sunday, October 24, 2021 and his funeral on Monday, October 25, 2021. Burial took place at Shell Creek Congregational Cemetery, Shell Creek/New Town
